U.S. Consul General Theriot Successfully Concludes Creative Writing Master Class in Pakistan

In a collaborative effort with the Humanities Department of NED University, U.S. Consul General Theriot officially closed the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN) USEFP Creative Writing Master Class. The initiative, held under the theme 'Peace, Human Rights, Social Cohesion, Democracy, and Freedom of Expression,' provided 39 PUAN alumni professionals, writers, and social activists from various regions in Pakistan with valuable mentoring and training. The class aimed to empower participants in championing peace, prosperity, social cohesion, democratic principles, and freedom of expression. The successful conclusion marks a significant step towards fostering positive change through the power of the written word.

As part of its 36th-anniversary celebrations, the Society of Pakistan English Language Teachers (SPELT) hosted a panel discussion on the ‘Role of experience in teachers’ professional development'. Professor Dr. Sajida Zaki, as the Chairperson of the Humanities Department at NED University, emphasized the importance of breaking routines in teaching to avoid stagnation. She highlighted that creativity can disrupt routine behaviors and advocated for continuous learning by updating disciplinary, technological, and experiential knowledge. Dr. Zaki encouraged educators to reflect on their learning experiences and emphasized the need for teachers to elevate themselves through ongoing self-improvement.
